Upendra is also at MediGen Group which seeded and started
PLx Pharma. Previously, he was with Momentum Bio Ventures where he led the
venture development team. He was also with BCM Technologies, the venture
subsidiary and incubator for the Baylor College of Medicine where he was
involved in the founding and launch of several biotechnology companies,
including drug discovery, bio-tool and pharmaceutical companies. The companies
have raised over $27 million in venture financing. Prior to BCMT, Upendra
was a post-doctoral fellow at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital
and University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. He has nearly 10 years
of drug development and molecular biology experience. His work has culminated
in three novel means to treat cancer that are in Phase I and III clinical
trials. He serves on the Faculty of the Jones School of Management at Rice
University.
